Meet Sirmont: Another iconic style from the AO archives that illustrates how fashion and history become intertwined; the Sirmont frame was famously worn by both changemakers LBJ and Malcolm X. First introduced in the early 1950s, the 'browline' look has never gone out of style. As with all classic AO frames, we delved into our archives to manufacture to all original specs, and then made careful ergonomic adjustments to modernize fit, including adding size options.

This is my first pair of American Optical sunglasses, and it definitely won’t be my last. They’re proudly made in the USA, which I truly appreciate. The frame feels solid and well-built, with excellent attention to detail throughout. They fit perfectly, look great, and feel like they’re built to last for years. Previous Rayban customer. Last pair of ray ban arms just deteriorated and fell apart. No warranty on rayban whatsoever. I came to AO to support American made and surprised to see they also have a warranty on their frames! I love my new pair and will be a repeat customer for sure.

I have never owned a pair of AO sunglasses until now, nor have I ever paid anywhere near this much for sunglasses. When I put them on for the very 1st time I immediately felt a firmness of fit and robust construction. These glasses have a "heft" to them without being heavy. I love the classic reserved look as well. They speak for themselves and make a time honored statement of refinement. Would I buy them again knowing what I know now? Absolutely. My only regret is not tryng them years ago. You have made me a lifelong fan.
